R-MA boys finish 26th in state swim meetDaily Staff Report - sports@nvdaily.com Randolph-Macon Academy's boys swim team finished 26th overall at Saturday's Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) state swimming championships. The meet was held at George Mason University's Freedom Fitness and Aquatic Centre. For R-MA, the boys 200-yard medley relay team of Cheng Qian, Dakoda Twenhafel, Tanner Blankenship and Gwi Woong Jung finished 20th overall in 1:53.87. The Yellow Jackets' 200 free relay of Blankenship, Andrew Cassone, Jung and Qian also finished 20th with a time of 1:40.05. Blankenship made the finals in the men's 200 individual medley and placed 13th in 2:07.43, and added an 18th-place finish in the 100 butterfly (57.38). Qian was 18th in the 100 backstroke (57.94) and 26th in the 100 free (51.92). In the girls meet, R-MA's Quinn Blankenship competed in two events as an eighth-grader.
