Swimmer of the Year: Kelsey Dingman, Sherando

Coach of the Year: Joe Knight, Sherando

• Emily Deem, Clarke County -- A freshman, Deem finished 15th in the 50 freestyle and 26th in the 100 backstroke at the Group AA/A state meet. Deem won a Region B championship in the 50 free and Bull Run District titles in both the 100 free and 50 free. Deem posted the area's second-best time in the 100 back.

• Kelsey Dingman, Sherando -- A sophomore, Dingman finished sixth in the 50 freestyle and 14th in the 100 free at the Group AA/A state meet. Dingman won a Region II championship in the 50 free and claimed Northwestern District titles in the 100 free and 50 free. Dingman had the area's top time in the 50 free (25.04).

• Sara Fergus, James Wood -- A freshman, Fergus finished 17th in the 500 freestyle and 20th in the 100 butterfly at the Group AA/A state meet. Fergus won Northwestern District titles in the 100 fly and 400 free. She posted the area's best times in the 100 fly (1:03.73) and 500 free (5:31.41).

• Liz Grove, Handley -- A sophomore, Grove finished 14th in the 200 individual medley and 19th in the 100 backstroke at the Group AA/A state meet. Grove captured Northwestern District titles in the 200 IM and 100 back. She had the area's fastest times in the 200 IM (2:16.39) and 100 back (1:04.44).

• Alex Lew, James Wood -- A senior, Lew finished 13th in the 50 freestyle and 18th in the 100 free at the Group AA/A state meet. Lew posted the area's fastest time in the 100 free (55.34) and ranked second among area leaders in both the 200 free and 50 free.
