STRASBURG -- Taylor Hill tallied a pair of goals to lead Strasburg High School's girls soccer team to a 2-1 home victory over Bull Run District rival Manassas Park on Friday.

Hill tallied goals off assists from Elizabeth Creekmur and Kennedy Smalls to lift the Rams to a win despite being outshot, 19-10, by the visiting Cougers.

Goalkeeper Anna Sparacio finished with 19 saves for Strasburg (2-3, 1-1 Bull Run).

Clarke County 8, Central 2

WOODSTOCK -- Aubrey Fletcher had four goals to lead the Eagles past the Falcons in Bull Run District action.

The junior also had one assist, and Brittany Teasley had two goals for the Eagles (4-0, 2-0 Bull Run). Morgan Fletcher had one goal and one assist and Courtney Butterfass had a goal. The Eagles outshot the Falcons 30-3.

Jenny Philpott and Annie Jadot each had a goal for the Falcons.

Boys soccer

Manassas Park 5, Strasburg 1

MANASSAS PARK -- Domenico Lubrano broke through with a goal, but it wasn't enough for visiting Strasburg in a 5-1 loss to Manassas Park on Friday.

Trailing by three goals in the first half, Lubrano pulled the Rams closer by connecting on a kick outside the penalty box. Tyler Henry had the assist for Strasburg (1-3, 0-2 Bull Run).

Clarke County 3, Central 0

BERRYVILLE -- Visiting Clarke County held Central to two shots on goal en route to a 3-0 Bull Run District win on Friday.

Connor Shendow got the scoring started in the 20th minute with a goal off Davey Hardesty's assist.

Brett Manahan connected on a penalty kick 14 minutes later, and Eric Hoyt completed the scoring with a goal off Theodore Biddle-Snead's assist in the 47th minute.

Clarke County (4-0, 2-0 Bull Run) outshot the Falcons, 9-2.

Stonewall Jackson 4, East Rockingham 0

ELKTON -- Roberto Cardoso had two goals to help give the Generals a Shenandoah District win over the Eagles.

David Dodson had a goal and an assist and Edgar Cardoso had a goal for the Generals (3-1, 2-0 Shenandoah). Ed Juarez had an assist for the Generals.


Strasburg 12, Manassas Park 7

STRASBURG -- Jordi Kump and Makayla Peer combined for seven RBIs as host Strasburg rolled to a 12-7 win over Manassas Park on Friday.

Kump was 2 for 4 with a triple and four RBIs, and Peer went 2 for 4 with three RBIs for Strasburg (3-4, 1-0 Bull Run District).

Ashleigh Smith added a 2 for 4 effort with an RBI to back Kump, who pitched a complete game for the win. She allowed six hits and six walks for four earned runs while striking out eight batters.


Clarke County 7, Central 5

WOODSTOCK -- The Falcons had the bases loaded in the seventh, but couldn't score in a Bull Run District loss to the Eagles.

Ryan Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Kaleb Orndorff had an RBI double for the Falcons (4-2, 0-2 Bull Run).

Sam Betz went 1-for-4 with three RBIs and Keith Hummer was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Eagles.

Sherando 10, Handley 1, 5 innings

STEPHENS CITY -- Darrell Thompson fired a no-hitter over five innings as host Sherando rolled to a mercy-shortened 15-1 win over Handley on Friday.

Thompson (3-0) struck out eight and gave up four walks, and his throwing error in the third led to Handley's lone run in the lightning-delayed game.

Jacob Carney went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and Tre Porter was 2 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs to lead the Warriors. Also for Sherando (8-1, 4-0 Northwestern) Chase Smallwood was 2 for 2 with an RBI, Logan Bucher went 1 for 2 with two RBIs and Zach Wagner was 1 for 3 with two RBIs.
