Prep roundup: Beamer's two-hitter sparks Skyline

STEPHENS CITY-- Sarah Beamer threw a two-hitter to help Skyline defeat Sherando, 5-1, on Monday in Northwestern District softball action.

Beamer struck out 10 in picking up the win. Sabrie Neeb had a solo homer for the Hawks.

WINCHESTER -- Morgan Sykes went 3-for-4 with two runs scored to lead the Colonels past the Judges.

Kierstyn Peacoe went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI, and also struck out 10 in picking up the victory in the circle for the Colonels (5-7, 4-1 Northwestern). Rachel Largent went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, and Charlotte Viands was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI for James Wood.

MANASSAS -- The Yellow Jackets gave up a combined nine runs over the second, third and fourth innings as they fell to the Conquistadors.

Neil Dutton led the Yellow Jackets (1-7, 1-2 DAC) with three hits and three steals. Ryan Pile went 2-for-4 with two runs scored for R-MA.
