Handley's Jessie Nolan and Kathryn Bock won their first Group AA individual doubles state title on Saturday afternoon in Blacksburg.
Nolan and Bock beat E.C. Glass' Sydney Moon and Paige Riley, 6-4, 6-2, in the final. Nolan and Bock (9-0) lost only seven games in their two state tournament matches.
It was the first state girls doubles title for Handley since 2007. Elizabeth Gardiner and Kristen Gordon won the title in 2007, and Allison Cole and Kelli Partlow won the only other in school history in 1996.
