Shenandoah University had two women's lacrosse players earn first team All-State honors in selections announced Wednesday afternoon by the Virginia State Sports Information Directors Association.
Sophomores Ashley Cross and Samantha Sisson were named to the team at goalkeeper and midfield, respectively.
Both women have previously been named first team All-USA South, USA South All-Tournament and to second team All-Chesapeake Region.
Sisson led the Hornets to a program-record 13 victories with 63 goals and 16 assists for 79 points. She also had 84 draw controls, 36 groundballs and 16 caused turnovers.
Cross backstopped SU to those 13 wins with 122 saves and a 6.78 goals against average in just more than 1,000 minutes played.
She also set a new school record with two shutouts.
Shenandoah opens its 2013 season on March 9 versus Washington (Md.).
