Valley League roundup: Front Royal rallies past Strasburg
Daily Staff Reports - sports@nvdaily.com Visiting Front Royal scored four runs in the seventh inning to rally for a 5-2 victory over Strasburg on Sunday. The Express led 2-1 after scoring a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth only to see the Cards score four times on four hits, a walk and a hit batter in the seventh. Matt Murakami and Keaton Neeb both had two hits for Front Royal. Zach Wiley led the hosts with a 3 for 4, 2 RBI evening. He had a two-run dinger in the sixth.
Woodstock and Luray combined for 30 hits, including five home runs, in a 9-8 Wranglers victory. Robby Campbell had two of the dingers with his seventh inning two-run starting a four-run rally that put Luray in front to stay. Campbell finished his night 4 for 5 with three RBI. Ethan Williams was 4 for 4 for the 'Bandits, who had 18 hits on the night. New Market 10, Staunton 8 Host New Market won its fourth straight game with a 10-8 South Division victory over Staunton. The Rebels led 8-0 after five, but saw the Braves come all the way back with an eight-run sixth. TJ Kuban then won it for New Market with a two-run walkoff blast with two outs in the ninth.
