VBL roundup: Express opener stalled at home

Host Strasburg saw its home opener suspended after four innings due to a power outage at First Bank Park on Thursday night.
The Express led the Luray Wranglers 3-2 after four innings of play; the contest will be resumed on June 14 when Luray makes its next trip to Strasburg.
Jordan Krauss had a two-run home run for the Wranglers with Billy Matroni, George Smith and Josh Gardiner all driving in a run apiece for Strasburg.
Front Royal 8, Haymarket 0
Garrett Cortright and Ryan Mayhew combined to throw a two-hitter to help host Front Royal past Haymarket, 8-0.
Cortright did the majority of work, allowing two hits and two walks in eight innings while striking out nine before Mayhew works a scoreless ninth.
Zach Bricknell, Bryce Williams and Luis Renvill all drove in two runs for the Cards.
Rockbridge 8, New Market 4
Host Rockbridge keeps New Market winless on the season by doubling up the Rebels in an 8-4 South Division victory.
The Rapids had 11 hits on the night, including two each from Chandler Smetana, Cody Dolan and Anthony Zarrella.
T.J. Kuban and Jeff Heisey both drove in a pair of runs for New Market.
