VBL roundup 6-14: Royals top River Bandits

Winchester won its league-leading ninth game with a 4-2 home victory over Woodstock.

The Royals had two home runs, a two-run shot from Brad Picha and a solo dinger from Joseph Odom.

Ethan Williams was 3 for 4 with two RBI for the 'Bandits.

Luray 5, Strasburg 2

Luray leads from the second inning on in a 5-2, seven-inning victory over Strasburg in Thursday's regularly scheduled game.

The Wranglers scored one run in the second, two in the fourth and two more in the fifth to pull away from the Express.

Robby Campbell and Blake Headley both had two hits for the victors.

Ryan Welling drove in both runs for Strasburg.

Haymarket 9, Front Royal 8

Host Haymarket erased a six-run deficit with five runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh to rally for a 9-8 win over Front Royal.

The Cards led 8-2 after scoring six runs in the fifth.

Patrick Wiese led a 12-hit attack with four hits and two RBI in five at-bats for the Senators.

Zach Bricknell had a three-run dinger for Front Royal.
