Assistant Women's Basketball Coach Meredith Cox announced Friday a group of 11 student-athletes that will be added into the program for the 2012-13 season.
Cox, along with fellow assistant Willie Lewis and former head coach Michelle Guyant-Holloway, recruited three local players into this class.
Corin Scott, a guard, and Sadie Thomas, a combo player, are set to head across town from Handley High School while Lisa Merriman joins from Millbrook.
Two of the remaining seven come to SU from Virginia, three players call Maryland home and one each from North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
These 11 add to the six returnees from the 2011-12 team.
The department is currently in the midst of conducting interviews for the head coaching position. The spot is expected to be filled by the end of August.
The 2012-13 season begins on November 15 at Wilkes (Pa.).
