VBL roundup: River Bandits wallop Wranglers

Visiting Woodstock led throughout in a 19-7 North Division triumph at Luray in Valley Baseball League action on Tuesday night.
The River Bandits, who had 21 hits on the night, scored five runs in the second, three in the fifth and 10 in the sixth to break the game wide open against the Wranglers.
Woodstock (18-20 overall, 13-12 North Division) sent 14 men to the plate in the sixth and had eight hits. Cody Harris, who had four hits on the night, had half of that production in the sixth.
Ethan Williams also had four hits for the victors.
Michael Broad and Yandy Viera had two hits each for Luray (16-21, 11-13).
Staunton 11, New Market 6
Visiting Staunton scored multiple runs in five different innings on its way to an 11-6 win at New Market on Tuesday night.
The victory snaps a six-game losing streak for the Braves.
The top eight starters in the lineup had at least one hit for Staunton (17-21, 9-17), with Phil Lipari going 4 for 6 with three runs scored from his leadoff spot.
Kevin DeFilippis had two hits for New Market (18-16, 9-11).
