Hawks pick up road win against Fauquier

WARRENTON -- Skyline High School quarterback Aaron Jeremiah connected with tight end Nick Helmick on a pair of touchdown passes as the Hawks topped homestanding Fauquier 20-9 on Friday night.
Jeremiah hooked up with Helmick on a 22-yard scoring strike in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Helmick hauled in a 46-yard touchdown reception as Skyline (2-0) held a 13-3 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, the Hawks struck again when Marcus Turner returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown.
That was enough offense for Skyline, which outgained the Falcons 306-192 in total offense. Jeremiah was 11 for 22 passing for 183 yards and two touchdowns. Helmick was the leading receiver with his two catches for 68 yards and two scores.
On defense, Helmick added two sacks and a pass defensed for the Hawks.
