JMU roundup: Dukes fall in women's soccer

Hofstra (7-4-0, 3-0-0) scored three times in the opening half and beat James Madison University (3-9-0, 1-3-0) 3-1 in Colonial Athletic Association women's soccer Sunday afternoon at University Park.
The Pride remained unbeaten and atop the CAA standings with its third straight league win and fourth consecutive overall victory. JMU dropped its third straight game, all of those coming in league play.
JMU's goal was scored by Becky Sparks on a free kick from 40 yards out at the 4:36 mark of the first half.
