R-MA rolls to season-opening win
Daily Staff Report - sports@nvdaily.com Visiting Randolph-Macon Academy cruised to a 54-0 victory over Rappahannock County in high school football action on Saturday night. R-MA's Andre Lake totaled 154 rushing yards on just four attempts (38.5 yards per carry) and had a pair of touchdowns plus a two-point conversion run. Kevin Slaton added two rushing touchdowns and 62 yards rushing, plus grabbed a 17-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Piole in the win. Pile also had a rushing touchdown, along with Jonathan Moore. Also for R-MA (1-0), Benjamin Gillis connected on a 34-yard field goal and was 4-for-4 on point-after attempts. The Yellow Jackets' defense -- led by Felipe Angulo, Nick Anderson, Ryan Pile, Juan Canela and Jonathan Moore -- held the host Panthers to just 24 yards of total offense.
