Shenandoah roundup: volleyball season comes to an end
Daily Staff Reports sports@nvdaily.com Shenandoah University saw its first ODAC volleyball season end with a 3-0 loss to Randolph-Macon on Wednesday night in the ODAC tournament quarterfinals. Macon (23-5), the No. 1 seed in the tournament, eliminated the No. 8 Hornets (13-16), 25-14, 25-14, 25-21. R-MC advances into Saturday's semifinals where it will host the winner of the No. 4 Lynchburg vs No. 5 Virginia Wesleyan contest. Senior Megan Gillispie paced SU in its final match with seven kills. Sophomore Samantha Schambach added five and Haley Smith four in support of Gillispie. Freshman Blake Parkes had a team-high 10 assists while Rachel Gross led the defense with nine digs.
