JMU roundup: Thorpe, JMU hammer Maine

Justin Thorpe posted 219 all-purpose yards and had three touchdowns in James Madison's 31-7 win over Maine on Saturday in a Colonial Athletic Association showdown.

Thorpe, who threw for 108 yards on 9 of 12 passing and rushed for 111 yards on 16 carries, gave James Madison a 10-0 lead on his 9-yard touchdown run and later helped the Dukes push the lead to 24-0 in the third quarter.

The Dukes (7-2, 5-1) went ahead 31-0 behind Thorpe's third TD of the day, an 8-yard run, with 7:30 left to play.
