First team

• Nick Helmick, Skyline

Defensive line

The senior had 80 tackles and was second in the area with 7.5 sacks. He was a first-team all-Northwestern District and second-team all-Region II selection.

• Chris Smith, Sherando

Defensive line

The senior recorded 80 tackles and led the area with 11.5 sacks. He was a first-team all-Northwestern District selection, and a second-team all-Region II pick.

• Glen Pinard, Warren County

Defensive line

The junior led the Wildcats with 4.5 sacks and recorded 23 tackles, including 20 solo stops, in helping the Wildcats to an 8-3 season. He was a first-team all-Region II pick.

• Jonathan Kloosterman, Strasburg

Defensive line

The junior led the Rams with 96 tackles and recorded 2 sacks this season. He was the Bull Run District Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team all-Region B selection.

• Zack Blair, Skyline

Linebacker

The senior recorded 131 tackles and four interceptions this season. He was named Defensive Player of the Year in both the Northwestern District and Region II.

• George Aston, Sherando

Linebacker

The junior was second in the area with 136 tackles. He was a first-team all-Northwestern District selection. He also was a first-team all-Region II pick.

• Jared Getz, Stonewall Jackson

Linebacker

The senior led the area with 168 tackles. He also had an interception and a sack for the Generals. He was a first-team all-Shenandoah District selection.

• Jeff Budwash

Linebacker

The senior had 80 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions this season. He was a first-team all-Evergreen District selection, and a first-team all-Region II pick.

• Matt Nicholson

Defensive back

The senior had two interceptions and 19 tackles this season. He was a first-team all-Evergreen District selection. He helped lead the Wildcats to an 8-3 season.

• John Bentley, Sherando

Defensive back

The senior recorded 57 tackles for the Warriors this season. He was a first-team all-Northwestern District selection. He helped lead the Warriors to a 6-5 season.

• Justin Bauserman, Central

Defensive back

The junior had four interceptions and 73 tackles this season. He was a first-team all-Bull Run selection. He helped lead the Falcons to the third round of the Div. 2 playoffs.

• Tyler Post, Warren County

Defensive back

The senior had five interceptions and 20 tackles for the Wildcats this season. He was a first-team all-Evergreen District selection, and a first-team all-Region II pick.

• Juan Luna, Stonewall Jackson

Punter

The senior averaged 40.5 yards per punt on 30 kicks, including a long of 52 yards. He was a first-team all-Shenandoah District selection, and a first-team all-Region B pick.

• Mike Yew, Central
Coach

Yew guided the Falcons to their first 10-win season in school history. Central won a share of the Bull Run District title and advanced to the third round of the Div. 2 playoffs.
