For the fourth straight year, the Shenandoah University baseball team has earned a top 30 ranking in the Collegiate Baseball pre-season poll.
Shenandoah, coming off of its fourth straight trip to the NCAA Regionals, is the pre-season No. 27 team in the 30-team poll.
The Hornets have 193 points in the poll to find themselves sandwiched between Southern Maine and Aurora (Ill.) in the annual ranking.
Wheaton (Mass.) is the pre-season No. 1 with 269 points. St. Thomas (Minn.) comes in just behind Wheaton with 267 points.
Shenandoah, which won 31 games last season on its way to a top three performance in the NCAA South Regional hosted by Christopher Newport, is the only ODAC team in the top 30.
Lynchburg, the defending league champions, is among 27 teams that received consideration for the top 30 but did not make the poll.
Another one of those teams, Misericordia, is the Hornets opening opponent. SU hosts the Cougars in a non-league doubleheader on February 16.
The ODAC opener is March 2 at Roanoke.
