Host James Madison put together a solid team effort in a 64-50 win over CAA foe Delaware in men's basketball action on Wednesday.
The Dukes had four players in double-figure scoring and used two 12-0 runs in the first half to take a 29-18 lead into halftime. JMU (10-10, 4-3 CAA) held Delware to just 22.7 percent shooting from the floor in the first 20 minutes, and the Blue Hens managed just one bucket during a 13-minute stretch in the first half.
Delaware (8-11, 3-3) briefly cut the lead to single digits in the second half before the Dukes used an 8-0 run to extend the lead back to 17 points.
JMU shot just 33 percent from the floor in the contest, but held the Blue Hens to a 28.9-percent mark from the field. The Dukes also held a 48-32 rebounding advantage and a 15-2 edge in second-chance points.
Senior guard A.J. Davis led JMU with 16 points, and senior Rayshawn Goins had 15 points and 13 rebounds. Senior Devon Moore (10 points, eight rebounds) and freshman Andre Nation (12 points) were also in double-digit points for the Dukes.
Devon Saddler led Delaware with 16 points, and Jarvis Threatt added 12 points.
