Prep roundup: Falcons top Panthers
Daily Staff Reports - sports@nvdaily.com Home-standing Central overcame a sluggish start en route to an 80-35 Bull Run District boys basketball victory over Rapphannock County on Tuesday night. The Falcons scored 73 of their 80 points in the last three quarters of the game. "We came out sluggish, then we turned it around," Central coach Mickey Clinedinst said. "We picked up the intensity, got the tempo the way we wanted it. We played much better together collectively. It's a good win, hopefully it will boost our confidence and we can carry it over for the rest of the year." Travis Cooper led the Falcons (4-7, 2-4 Bull Run) with 22 points and six rebounds. Ricky Neff had 14 points, and Zach Herbaugh had eight points and 10 rebounds for Central. Girls basketball Stonewall Jackson led 17-14 at the half, before the Cougars turned things around.
