Shenandoah University baseball coach Kevin Anderson announced Monday that he and his staff will hold their third annual coaching clinic next month.
Anderson, along with along with assistants Bruce Cameron, David Jenkins and Phil Betterly will host the free clinic on Saturday, Feb. 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Aikens Athletic Center on the Shenandoah University campus.
Anderson, the 2009 and 2010 ABCA South Region Coach of the Year and 2011 USA South Coach of the Year, is hosting the clinic not just for youth league baseball coaches, but any parent wishing to give their child better instruction in America's national pastime.
Topics include coaching philosophy and prep as well as practice organization. The clinic also includes individual position breakouts and demonstrations.
"We are always happy to give back," Anderson said in a school news release. "We want the youth in the area to have a great experience playing America's Pastime, and we think that this clinic will help make that happen.
"We also have an interest in helping these players out. A number of student-athletes that we have in our program are local, and so anything we can do to increase the level of play in the area could help us in the future."
