JMU roundup: Dukes blow out North Carolina Wilmington

HARRISONBURG -- James Madison recorded its eighth straight women's basketball win as the Dukes beat visiting North Carolina Wilmington 74-43 in Colonial Athletic Association action on Thursday.

Senior guard Tarik Hislop scored a game-high 19 points in the win and moved into fifth place on the Dukes' career scoring list with 1,615 career points. She is two points shy of sole possession of fourth place.

Freshman Precious Hall added 15 points and four assists for JMU and Kirby Burkholder tallied 10 points.

UNCW was led by freshman Dana Brown's nine points, and senior Karneshia Garrett added eight points and six rebounds for the Seahawks.

JMU (15-7, 9-1 CAA) has now won 12 of its last 13 games and is currently in second place in the conference standings. The Dukes will host No. 20/23-ranked Delware, which is currently 10-0 in conference play, on Sunday.
