Prep roundup: Warriors make quick work of Hawks

FRONT ROYAL -- Sherando pitchers John Bentley and Adam Whiteacre combined for a one-hit shutout as the visiting Warriors topped Skyline, 11-0, in five innings Wednesday at Bing Crosby Stadium.

Bentley pitched the first four innings, allowing only Nick Helmick's infield single in the fourth, Bentley struck out nine and walked two to earn the victory in his varsity starting debut.

Offensively for Sherando (3-0, 2-0 Northwestern District), Taylor Loudan was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Jacob Carney added a 1-for-2 effort with a double and two RBIs, and Reid Entsminger had a two-run single for the Warriors.

Michael Burrola started and took the loss for Skyline (3-3, 0-1 Northwestern).
