Sherando grad Baker breaks 10 school records at Bethany College
Daily staff report BETHANY, W.Va. -- Sherando graduate and current Bethany College sophomore Marina Baker broke 10 school records during the Presidents' Athletic Conference swimming and diving championships. Baker started the weekend event by helping set a new school mark in the 200 free relay, where she swam the leadoff leg and posted a split of 25.18 seconds. The Bison later broke the record in the 200 free relay again, posting a time of 1:42.86. Baker also swam the 200 medley in 2:19.29. On the second day of the event, Baker broke the record in the 100 breast, clocking in at 1:11.38 to take fifth overall. Baker's leadoff leg 2:00.49 in the 800 relay was a new record, as was the team's final time of 8:17.77. Baker ended the weekend event with a new record in the 200 breast (2:39.50), and her leadoff leg of the 400 relay (54.99 seconds) helped the team finish with a final time of 3:46.40.
