SU roundup: Baseball Hornets jump in rankings

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- The Shenandoah University baseball team has improved by 15 spots from its preseason selection in the initial ABCA ranking poll of the 2013 season.

The 11-3 Hornets are now the No. 12 team in the country according to the collegiate baseball coaches after being picked 27th in the preseason Top 30 poll.

SU is just two points behind No. 11 Cal Lutheran and three back of No. 10 St. Thomas (Minn.)

Salisbury, at 13-2, leads the poll with 398 points and four first-place votes.

Shenandoah is the only Old Dominion Athletic Conference team in the poll.

The Hornets return to the diamond Wednesday against Eastern Mennonite in an ODAC contest.
