QUICKSBURG -- Taylor Koontz scored two goals to lead Stonewall Jackson to a 4-1 Shenandoah District victory over Buffalo Gap in girls soccer action Tuesday night.
Koontz scored at the 35-minute mark and the 71-minute mark. Maira Cardoso and Emily Jordan each scored a goal for the Generals (3-0, 2-0 Shenandoah).
Strasburg 2, Manassas Park 0
MANASSAS PARK -- Kirsten Campbell scored both goals to help lead the Rams past the Cougars in Bull Run District girls soccer action.
Sarah Peer had an assist on each goal. Manassas Park outshot Strasburg 13-12. Anna Sparacio had 13 saves for the Rams (1-1-1, 1-1 Bull Run).
SVCA 5, Mt. Carmel 0
STEPHENS CITY -- Jessica Crowley had a goal and two assists to lead the Patriots past Mt. Carmel.
Heather McGann had a goal and an assist for the Patriots (3-0). Abi Beaty, Bethany Emswiller and Maddie Deason each had a goal for SVCA. Megan Norton and Katie Wykoff each had an assist for the Patriots.
Skyline 9, Brentsville 1
FRONT ROYAL -- Sterling Jennings and Joe Dawkins combined to throw a two-hitter as Skyline knocked off Brentsville in nondistrict baseball action.
Jennings threw five innings, allowing just one hit. The Hawks also had a season-high 10 hits in the victory.
Chaz Rutherford went 2 for 3 with two RBIs, and Jacob Sims went 2 for 4 with three RBIs and two runs scored for the Hawks (4-3, 0-1 Northwestern). Hunter Partlowe also was 1 for 3 with two runs scored and a double for Skyline.
Leesburg Christian 9, SVCA 8
LEESBURG -- Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy made a fierce rally, but still came up short in a loss to the Lions.
The Patriots trailed 8-3 entering the top of the seventh, and responded with five runs. However, Leesburg scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to win the game.
Jacob Heflin went 3 for 4 with four RBIs, and Matt Rogers was 2 for 3 for the Patriots (1-2). Bobby Albright went 1 for 4 with two RBIs, and had the game-tying hit in the seventh.
Strasburg 11, Manassas Park 0, six innings
MANASSAS PARK -- Tyler Hott and Garrett Richards combined for a one-hitter to lead Strasburg to a Bull Run District victory over Manassas Park.
Hott pitched five innings and had 11 strikeouts with no walks. Ian Baker went 3 for 3 with three runs scored, and Ryan Murphy was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs for the Rams (5-0, 1-0 Bull Run).
Strasburg 25, Manassas Park 0
MANASSAS PARK -- The trio of Nikki Killen, Ashtyn Foddrell and Lexi Schlag each went 4 for 5 to lead the Rams past the Cougars. The game only went five innings due to the mercy rule.
Killen and Foddrell each had three RBIs and Schlag had five RBIs in the win. Tori Conner and Jordi Kump each struck out four, while Foddrell struck out two for the Rams (3-4, 1-1 Bull Run).
