SHENANDOAH -- Visiting Strasburg kept its record spotless with an extra-inning rally to down host Page County, 7-5, in non-district baseball action on Wednesday.
Knotted at 5-all heading into the top of the ninth inning, the Rams scratched across two runs to grab the lead. Noah St. Clair drew a leadoff walk, then moved to second on a ground out. Ryan Smoot was then intentionally walked, and Tyler Hott followed with a two-run triple to score both runners.
Hott finished with a 2-for-5 night with three RBIs, and Ryan Smoot added a 3-for-4 effort with three runs scored and a pair of RBIs. St. Clair chipped in a 2-for-3 effort with two runs scored for Strasburg (6-0).
Tyler Doman, who came on in relief, pitched the final 5 2/3 innings to earn the win. He allowed no runs while giving up just four hits and striking out four.
Warren County 4, George Mason 3
FRONT ROYAL -- Warren County's trio of Ariel Asher, Kacie Stacks and Autumn Troxell each had two hits to lead the Wildcats past George Mason, 4-3, in non-district softball action Wednesday.
Asher had an RBI and scored two runs, while Troxell had an RBI and three steals for the Wildcats (5-1).
Paige McLachlan struck out seven in picking up the win for the Wildcats.
