STRASBURG -- Wyatt Hitt scored the game-winning goal with a little over a minute left to give Central a 2-1 Bull Run District boys soccer victory over Strasburg on Friday night.
Hitt scored on an assist from Tony Whetzel. Stephen Hamrick also scored a goal for Central on an assist from Nathan Spencer.
The Rams tied the game at 1-1 with nine minutes left in the game, before Hitt's heroics. Central outshot Strasburg, 27-15. Central goalkeeper Eric Ventura had 10 saves.
"I gotta give credit to Strasburg. That's the best Strasburg team I've seen since I've been coaching," Central coach Ted Poor said. "They were coming off a win against Madison last night and gave us all we could handle. It was an excellent, well-played game. It was a fun game."
