WINCHESTER -- Shenandoah University Head Women's Basketball Coach C.K. Calhoun announced her 2013-14 schedule Monday morning.
Calhoun, who led the Hornets to an ODAC Tournament quarterfinal round appearance in the first season at the helm of the program, will have 11 home games on the 2013-14 slate.
After opening the season at the Randolph-Macon Tip-Off Tournament, playing Christopher Newport and Wilson, Calhoun's club opens up its home schedule on November 26 against perennial power Mary Washington.
The 6:00 contest against the Eagles is the first game in a season-long four-game homestand for the club. SU will sandwich an ODAC game against Emory & Henry on December 7 around non-league contests versus Wilkes on December 1 and Lebanon Valley on the 16th.
Three straight away non-conference games bracket the Christmas holiday before Guilford arrives on January 7 for a 3:00 ODAC contest.
This game begins a run of 13 straight ODAC games to complete the regular season.
The Hornets will host Bridgewater, Lynchburg, Roanoke, Randolph-Macon, Randolph College and Eastern Mennonite in ODAC play.
Roanoke, on February 1, is Alumni Day while the Macon contest on February 11 is the annual Play4Kay game.
Randolph, on February 15, is Senior Day.
The road ODAC opponents include Lynchburg, Hollins, Randolph, Virginia Wesleyan, Washington and Lee, Bridgewater, Roanoke and Emory and Henry.
"We have six opponents - Christopher Newport, Lebanon Valley, Marymount and Gettysburg as well as league rivals Guilford and Eastern Mennonite - that made the NCAA Tournament last season," Calhoun said.
"I feel that if we are going to continue our climb in the ODAC, we need to play opponents of this caliber.
"Last year, we played four teams that had advanced to the NCAA Tournament, so we are continuing to strengthen our schedule.
"I look forward to another great year."
