NEWPORT NEWS -- The throwers once again led the Shenandoah University men's and women's track and field teams Friday on the opening day of the 2013 Mason-Dixon Outdoor Championships.
Senior Amanda Theall won her third straight Mason-Dixon championship in the hammer throw with a toss of 41.85 meters.
On the men's side, junior Evan Griffin was second at 46.70 meters.
This is a new school record for Griffin.
Senior Jaclyn Mohlmann broke the school mark in the high jump with a leap of 1.55 meters. She finished in the top four of the event.
In the sprints, freshman Breana Hagwood qualified for Saturday's finals in the 100 meter high hurdles at 16.26 seconds.
The meet concludes Saturday.
