WINCHESTER -- Shenandoah University men's basketball coach Rob Pryor announced Wednesday that Chad Brashears has been added to his staff as an assistant coach.

Brashears joins Pryor's staff as a part-time assistant.

A four-year star who helped the Hornets to the 2004 USA South Conference Tournament championship game, Brashears returns to SU after three seasons as the assistant coach at junior college power Hagerstown (Md.) Community College.

The Hagerstown native got his coaching start at St. Maria Goretti High School in his hometown and served as the varsity head coach from 2008-10.

After leaving Goretti following the 2009-10 season, Brashears moved onto HCC, where he helped that team to Region XX titles in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and a national tournament appearance in 2013.

Brashears directed the offense to a second best in the nation 94.6 per game average in 2012-13.

Brashears started his part-time duties on May 1.
