LYNCHBURG -- Shenandoah University senior Jaclyn Mohlmann finds herself 920 points ahead of pace in the heptathlon after day one of the Lynchburg Multi-Event.

Competing in the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200-meter dash, Mohlmann improved all four of her individual scores from the Penn Relays two weeks ago.

The senior started off with a season best 15.54 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles to score 772 points, a 68-point improvement over Penn.

After leaping 1.54 meters in the high jump to score 666 points, Mohlmann uncorked a personal record toss of 8.81 meters in the shot put to score another 452 points.

The shot put total is a 95 points better than day one at Penn.

She then wrapped up day one with a 27:15 for 699 points in the 200 meters.

The 200 performance bested her personal best by a full second.

Her day one total of 2,589 is better 920 than Penn and puts her in first place in the 11-woman field.

On Tuesday, she will compete in the long jump, javelin and 800 meters.

Mohlmann is attempting to qualify for the NCAA National Championships and needs a score of approximately 4,300 points to solidify a position.
