2013 All-Area Girls Tennis Team

First Team

• Carol Ashley, Warren County

The senior capped off her four-year varsity career in style. Ashley helped lead a youthful Wildcat squad to an 11-5 record and to a third-place finish in the very tough Evergreen District.

• Katelyn Foltz, Central

The junior gave the Falcons a spark at No. 1 singles. Foltz led the Falcons to a 5-7 record and a second-place finish in the Bull Run District, behind Group A state champion George Mason.

• Julie Hoverter, Skyline

The senior gave the Hawks a big boost this season playing at No. 2 singles. Hoverter also teamed with Ashleigh Salyers to form a solid No. 1 doubles tandem for the Hawks.

• Margaret Moomaw, Stonewall Jackson

The junior had a solid season for the Generals playing at No. 1 singles and doubles. Moomaw helped lead the Generals to a third-place finish in the Shenandoah District and a 10-5 record.

• Presley Rutherford, Skyline

The senior used her all-around game to advance to the Region II individual singles tournament. Rutherford helped lead the Hawks to a regional berth for the third time in the last four years.

• Olivia Scott, Sherando

The sophomore played at No. 1 singles for the Warriors this season. Scott helped lead a young squad, which improved throughout the season, including wins in two of their last three matches.
