SU roundup: Brady named to VaSID all-state squad

LYNCHBURG — Rising sophomore Kimberly Brady has been named VaSID all-state for softball in selections announced Monday morning by the Virginia State Sports Information Directors.

Brady, who hit .392 on the year on her way to being named first team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference and ODAC Rookie of the Year, was a VaSID second-team selection in the outfield.

She was the only SU player named to the team.

Brady finished the year second on the team in both batting average and runs scored and was third in hits.

Her six home runs led the squad.

Shenandoah opens up its 2014 season on Feb. 22 against Messiah.
