LYNCHBURG — Rising senior Samantha Sisson was named to the all-state women’s lacrosse team in selections announced Thursday afternoon by the Virginia State Sports Information Directors Association.

Sisson, the Hornets’ leading scorer, was named second team all-state at midfield.

She was the only SU player honored, despite the squad finishing second in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference with an 8-2 league record and making an appearance in the league championship contest.

Sisson had 51 goals and 26 assists for 77 points on the year and also finished second in the league in both groundballs, 57, and caused turnovers, 30.

She is a three-time first team all-league selection and will enter her senior year needing just 16 points to become the all-time points leader in program history.
