Daily Staff Report – sports@nvdaily.com

Woodstock resident Joseph Plauger kept pace with the hot weather by notching another sizzling round with his golf game at Sunday’s Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA) junior tournament at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club in Front Royal.

Plauger, 15, notched his first VSGA victory in a tournament at Fauquier Springs Country Club in Warrenton earlier this month. He shot a 75 in that tournament.

At Shenandoah Valley, Plauger went one better by firing a low-round 74 (3-over-par) to win the tournament by three strokes.
