Prep roundup: Warriors’ Loy co-champ at Bryan Gunter Memorial

WINCHESTER — Sherando freshman Brett Loy finished the Bryan Gunter Memorial golf tournament with a two-day total of 149, tying him with Centreville’s Yoojin Kim for the individual tournament championship.
Loy fired a three-over-par 75 on Day 2 of the tournament at Winchester Country Club on Friday, a day after the freshman shot a 74 at Rock Harbon Golf Club on Thursday.
Charlottesville won the team championship with a two-day score of 633, nine strokes better than second-place James Wood. Sherando finished fourth in the tournament after a score of 328 on Friday gave the Warriors a two-day total of 657.
Sophomore Mason Scott (164) and freshman Jonah Pearson (173) each shot an 85 on Friday for Sherando, while sophomore Josh Hogue fired an 83.
