Prep roundup: Doman lifts Rams to dual win

FRONT ROYAL -- Strasburg's Tyler Doman fired a one-under par 35 on the back nine at Blue Ridge Shadows golf course to claim medalist honors and lead the Rams to a dual victory over Warren County on Thursday.

Strasburg topped the Wildcats, 163-214.

Also scoring for the Rams were Jacob Smith (39), Reese Taylor (44) and Colten Smith (45). Garrett Richards also shot a 45 for Strasburg.

For Warren County, Chase Hatfield carded the team's low round with a 48. Other scorers for the Wildcats were Courtney L'Amoreaux (52), Dalton Jenkins (54) and Destin Waller (60).

Strasburg returns to action Monday in the Shenandoah County tournament at Bryce Resort. Warren County is back in action Tuesday, hosting Clarke County in a dual.

William Monroe 148, Central 171

STANARDSVILLE -- Defending Group A state champion William Monroe downed visiting Central at a dual match Thursday at Greene Hills Club golf course.

The Green Dragons beat Central, 148-171.

For the Falcons, Ben Kline fired a team-best 36 in the nine-hole competition. Also scoring for Central were Jacob Allwine (37), Joseph Plauger (40) and Tyler Ferrero (58).

Central returns to action Monday in the Shenandoah County tournament at Bryce Resort.
