SU roundup: Cross country polls released

FOREST -- The Shenandoah University cross country teams are the pre-season No. 7 and 8 selections in the ODAC women's and men's pre-season polls released Monday morning by the league office.

The SU women are the pre-season No. 7 selection of 10 teams in their polls while the men are picked eighth of 11 teams in their poll.

Both teams finished seventh in their respective ODAC races last fall.

Washington and Lee, with 77 points and seven first place votes, is the pick to win it all on the women's side. Bridgewater has three first place votes and 75 points to hold down the No. 2 spot.

BC is the pre-season favorite for the men after topping the poll with eight first place votes and 98 points.

Lynchburg trails the Eagles by six points after grabbing the remaining three first place votes and 92 total points.

Shenandoah has 29 points in the women's poll to lead eighth place Randolph College by eight points.

The Hornet men have 37 points in their poll to trail No. 7 Virginia Wesleyan by just three points.

Both teams open their 2013 seasons on August 31 at the Salisbury University Invitational.
