Christendom roundup: Crusaders fall in OT

FRONT ROYAL — The Wilson College women’s soccer team posted a 3-2 overtime victory over host Christendom College.

Wilson got on the board first when Nicole Bodulow scored unassisted 36:20 in the game. Christendom responded with a goal to even up the score 1-1 in the second half. Both teams played even during the second half as they each tallied another goal to make it 2-2.

Senior Courtney Bernecker scored Wilson’s second goal of the game off an assist from Nicole Bodulow.

Three minutes into overtime, Nana Ohene-Manu headed a goal with help from Nicole Bodulow to secure the victory for Wilson (2-5).

Wilson posted 18 shots in the contest and held the advantage in corner kicks with seven. Bernecker led her team with six shots, while senior Brittany Poff tallied five shots. Freshman Teniera Prioleau totaled eight saves in net for the Phoenix.

Christendom dropped to 0-5. The Crusaders are back in action on Sept. 24 when they host Trinity University in a 5 p.m. game.


MONT ALTO, Pa. — Host Penn State-Mont Alto topped visiting Christendom 3-0 in volleyball action on Wednesday night.
