Prep roundup: Good leads Generals to golf win

NEW MARKET -- Stonewall Jackson High School's Andrew Good fired a 1-under-par 35 on the Olde Course at Shenvalee Resort to lead the Generals to a victory over Broadway on Wednesday.

Stonewall topped the Gobblers, 151-169, for the victory.

Good earned low medalist honors, and combined with Ben Rosenberger (38), Colton Harlow (39) and Kory Somers (39). Eric Arnesen (41) and George Daugharty (47) also played for Stonewall Jackson.

On Tuesday, the Generals beat Spotswood 2-0 in a rare match-play format meeting.

Luray meet

LURAY -- Strasburg won both the boys and girls races in Wednesday's five-team meet at Luray.

The Rams topped host Luray, Page County, Clarke County and Madison County in both meets.

Strasburg's Timmy Wallis won the boys race.
