WINCHESTER -- Visiting Dickinson College scored once in each half Wednesday evening to down Shenandoah University 2-0 in non-conference women's soccer action on the Sprint Field at Shentel Stadium turf.
Dickinson (4-1) scored in the 35th and 77th minutes to provide the final margin of victory over SU (2-4).
The Red Devils posted a clean sheet, but they had to earn it as Hornets senior Courtney Boschert set up a pair of excellent scoring chances in the 65th minute.
Beating three players off the dribble, Boschert fed Danielle Burris just outside the 18-yard box, where Burris launched a bending shot that Dickinson keeper Charlotte Armour was only able to deflect.
The rebound came right to Jennifer Nguyen, who was denied by Armour at the near post.
Unfortunately for the home crowd, this would be the hosts' best chance to find the back of the net.
In the 35th minute, Dickinson scored the initial goal of the contest as Nicole Fronsdahl collected a rebound and fed Rosalin Savoie, who tapped the ball home from right on top of the goal line.
Fronsdahl scored unassisted for the insurance tally.
Dickinson had slight advantages, 13-10 and 4-3, in shots and corners, respectively.
Hornets keeper Erin Septer made seven saves.
Shenandoah opens its Old Dominion Athletic Conference slate on Saturday with a 4 p.m. contest against Randolph.
