SILVER SPRING, Md. -- Christendom College's men's soccer team suffered just its second loss of the year in Wednesday's season finale against Washington Adventist.
The Shock, who also beat the Crusaders in an earlier matchup this season, jumped out to a three-goal lead as Abanda Nkwanyou tallied all three en rout to a 4-1 victory.
Nkwanyou struck with an unassisted goal at the 5:59 mark in the first half, then tallied another goal in the 45th minute on Emmanuel Ajayi's assist.
Nkwanyou notched another unassisted goal in the 47th minute to complete his hat trick.
Christendom (11-2-1) broke up the shutout in the 54th minute when Johnny Foeckler beat Shock goalkeeper Daniel Olofinsua with a shot into the bottom right corner.
Ajayi completed the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 71st minute for Washington Adventist (6-3).
Crusaders goalie Tim Vander Woude finished with five saves. Christendom outshot the hosts, 15-14, and forced Olofinsua to make eight saves.
