Prep roundup: Rams fall short to Dragons

STANARDSVILLE — Strasburg’s rally late in the game, came up a bit short as the Rams fell to William Monroe 42-34 on Friday in Bull Run District action.

Strasburg quarterback Mark Smoot threw for 222 yards on 22 for 38 passing and four touchdowns. Ryan Smoot caught seven passes for 111 yards and a touchdown. Colt Cowgill had four receptions for 45 yards and two touchdowns.

Colton Funk had 80 yards on 14 carries for the Rams. Strasburg drove to the William Monroe 23 in the final minutes, but an incomplete pass on fourth down sealed the Dragon victory.
