SU roundup: Green named ODAC Player of the Week

FOREST - Senior Avery Green has been named ODAC Player of the Week for men's basketball in selections announced Monday afternoon by the league office.

Green led the Hornets to a 2-0 week and a BB&T Tip-Off Classic championship by scoring 58 points in wins over Methodist and Hood on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Green had 29 points in each game, tying his career-high, and shot 64 percent from the field in leading all scorers and earning tournament MVP honors.

He also pulled down 12 rebounds and had six assists in the two games.

The Fredericksburg native is now 229 points from 1000 for his career after the big weekend.

Green is the first SU men's basketball player to earn an ODAC weekly honor.

Shenandoah is back in action on Friday at Hampden-Sydney against N.C. Wesleyan in the first game of the South Region Classic. SU also will play Mary Washington in the classic format tournament.
