Prep roundup: Strasburg wins Clarke County tourney

BERRYVLLE — Strasburg won the Clarke County Duals on Saturday in wrestling action.

The Rams finished with 150 points to take first. Clarke County and Handley were tied for second with 130. Stonewall Jackson finished sixth with 45 points.

Dylan Campbell (113), Nic Campbell (126), Hunter Dean (132) and Tyler Drummond (160) were all champions for the Rams. Dalton Dillman (138) placed second for Strasburg.

Andrew Good (132), Chris Delaughter (145) and Kyle Cowart (152) placed second for the Generals.

Girls basketball

Central 47, Manassas Park 32
MANASSAS PARK — Central overcame a slow start and pulled away for a Bull Run District girls basketball victory over the Cougars on Saturday.

Mary Wakeman led the Falcons with 12 points, three steals and two assists. Cianne Fields had 10 points and six rebounds, and Tamra Scott had 10 points, seven rebounds and three steals for the Falcons (11-6, 8-4 Bull Run). Rebecca Truban had two points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists for Central.

Postgraduate boys basketball

Massanutten Academy 90, Hargrave Military Academy 87

CHATHAM — Isaac Fleming poured in 29 points to lead Massanutten Academy to a 90-87 victory over host Hargrave Military Academy in Saturday’s Josh Howard Military Challenge.

Fleming, a University of Hawaii signee, was named player of the game. Teammate Dwayne Foreman, a Rutgers signee, added 18 points in the win.

Also for the Colonels, Dimitri Sousa had 11 points and De’Shar Wilson-Thomas finished with eight points.
