STEPHENS CITY — Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy knocked off Stuart Hall, 77-69, in the Virginia Association of Christian Athletes North Region boys basketball final on Saturday.

The Patriots will host a game Tuesday in the VACA state quarterfinals. The Patriots trailed 35-33 at the half, but outscored Stuart Hall 16-9 in the third period.

Evan Hotek and Patrick McGrath each had 20 points and nine rebounds to lead the Patriots. Shyheim Gilkerson had 19 points for SVCA.

Girls basketball

SVCA 49, Stuart Hall 33

STEPHENS CITY — Sam Yarnall scored a team-high 12 points to lead host SVCA to a 49-33 victory over Stuart Hall in the Virginia Association of Christian Athletes North Region girls basketball final on Saturday.

Yarnall chipped in five rebounds and five steals for the Patriots, who host a VACA state quarterfinal game against Timberlake Christian on Tuesday.

Hannah McGann and Alex Yarnall added 11 points each for the Patriots, and Grace Snyder had seven points and nine rebounds in the win.

Massanutten Academy 68, Shooting4Greatness 65

WOODSTOCK — Elijah De-Shar Wilson-Thomas poured in a team-high 19 points to lead host Massanutten Academy to a 68-65 win over Shooting4Greatness (N.C.) in Saturday’s Massanutten Invitational at Central High School.

Massanutten’s D.J. Foreman, a Rutgers University signee, chipped in 16 points. Also for the Colonels, University of Hawaii-bound shooting guard Isaac Fleming had 14 points, and teammates Fa’Teem Glenn and Raquan Brown-Johnson chipped in eight points apiece.
