Prep roundup: Central rallies for boys soccer win over Clarke

BERRYVILLE — Central rallied with two goals in the final 21 minutes to knock off Clarke County, 2-1, in Bull Run District boys soccer action on Thursday night.
The Eagles took a 1-0 lead with 33:19 left in the game. Ben Truban then tied the game for the Falcons with 20:21 left. Central sophomore Tyler Bosserman then scored the game-winning goal on an assist from Eric Ventura with 7:01 left in the game.
The win moves the Falcons to 2-0 on the season. They play at Rappahannock County on Tuesday.
Clarke County 8, Central 5
WOODSTOCK — The Eagles scored seven run in the seventh to pull out a Bull Run District victory over the Falcons.
The Falcons had a 5-1 lead entering the top of the seventh. Cody Sager went 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Jordan Rau went 2-for-3 for the Falcons. Hayden Bauserman went 1-for-2 with two RBIs for Central.
“We played well,” Central coach Donn Foltz said. “In the seventh inning they put the ball in play, and we just didn’t close it out.”

MANASSAS — Slayton Speer had three goals in the first half to lead the Yellow Jackets past the Conquistadors.
Garrett Cavanaugh also had a goal for the Yellow Jackets, who are now 3-1.
