JMU roundup: Angel earns CAA honor

RICHMOND - For the second consecutive week, James Madison lacrosse redshirt-freshman attacker Betsy Angel earned Colonial Athletic Association women's lacrosse Rookie of the Week honors, the league announced today.

Angel tallied five goals this week, including a game-high four against San Diego State. Two of her goals started both 8-0 runs by the Dukes en route to their 20-7 victory over the Aztecs. In the 8-7 comeback win against Richmond, she tallied one goal as well as caused her first turnover and snagged two ground balls.

In eight games played this season, Angel has scored 10 goals with three assists, five ground balls and one caused turnover.

JMU is on a two-game win-streak after notching an 8-7 win over Richmond and a 20-7 win over San Diego State. The Dukes open conference action on Saturday, April 5 as they welcome William & Mary for a 1 p.m. game.
