DAYTON, Tenn. -- Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy's girls basketball team advanced to the Division 3 semifinals of the National Association of Christian Athletes (NACA) tournament with a 54-24 victory over TEACH (N.C.) in pool play on Wednesday.
Samantha Yarnall tallied a double-double with team highs of 22 points and 16 rebounds for the Patriots. Grace Snyder added 14 points and Hannah McGann had 12 points, five steals and four assists for SVCA, which is aiming to claim another title after winning the Virginia Association of Christian Athletics (VACA) state championship this past weekend.
SVCA will face Cornerstone (Ohio) in today's semifinals. Game time is 1 p.m.
In boys action, SVCA lost its opening-round game to fellow Virginia school Evangel by a 77-38 score. The loss dropped the Patriots into the Division 5 bracket.
